2023 China Panda Gold & Silver Coin Design Highlights
Since 2019, China Panda Coin has started a “new” ten-year story, interpreting the different growth stages of this baby panda with the unique design launched every year.
Continuing the theme of "Ten Years of Love", the 2023 Panda Coin is the 5th year of this adorable baby panda as the main character on the coin. When sharing the design concept, designer Tong Fang said that the 2023 Panda coin’s reverse design is about "accompaniment of love".
The reverse of the coins depicts a pair of two-and-a-half-year-old panda cubs enjoying a simple and peaceful life together in a silent bamboo forest. They accompanied each other while growing up, thus establishing a close sibling relationship; they also learnt all the life skills from their panda mother to be able to live independently in their natural habitat.
Each coin in the set bears the common obverse design featuring the Temple of Heaven in Beijing, the title of PRC and the year date. The common reverse features pandas climbing a tree, the face value, weight and fineness.
